Covid-19: Anti-social personality traits are associated with mask neglect

Those who fail to comply with Covid-19’s containment measures were considered most insensitive, hostile and misleading, study concludes

Brazilian scientists relate resistance to Covid-19 security measures, such as wearing a mask, with antisocial personality traits. The study was the first of its kind in Latin America and was attended by more than 1500 people aged between 18 and 73 years.

Through a questionnaire, the researchers sought to identify the affective resonance of the participants, that is, their impulse to act according to the feelings caused by another person, and asked a series of personality trait questions about how well certain statements represented their behavior on a scale.
