World Food Program wins Nobel Peace Prize

The World Food Program is the winner of the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize, announced the Norwegian Committee in Oslo.

The prize, which will be awarded on December 10, is worth nine million SEK, that is, about 860 thousand euros.

“The need for international solidarity and multilateral cooperation is more evident than ever. The Norwegian Committee has decided to deliver the Nobel Peace Prize to the World Food Program ”, they announced. “For its efforts to fight hunger, for its contribution to improving conditions for peace in areas affected by conflicts and for acting as a driving force in efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict.”
