Strategic partnership being negotiated with Chinese CCCC – Mota Engil

Portuguese construction company Mota Engil on Thursday said that the strategic partnership and investment agreement announced are being negotiated with China Communications Construction Company, Ltd. (CCCC), which will own 30% after a capital increase.

In a communiqué sent to the Securities Market Commission (CMVM), Mota Engil said that following the communiqué published early Thursday morning that the counterpart of the strategic partnership and investment agreement in the final phase of negotiations is China Communications Construction Company, Ltd. (CCCC).

In December it was reported that the CCCC was evaluating the purchase of 30% of Mota-Engil to expand its business internationally, and now the negotiations are in the final phase.

Mota Engil is a partner of CCCC in the construction of the Tren Maya railroad infrastructure in Mexico, in what is the largest contract ever in Latin America.
