UN recommends balance between prevention and economic stability

The resident coordinator of the United Nations in Angola, Paolo Balladelli, recommended yesterday, in Luanda, the reinforcement of sanitary measures to continue to stop the spread of Covid-19, but suggested a balance so that the need to prevent the pandemic does not slip into “ serious economic problems ”.

Speaking to journalists at the Presidential Palace, after being received in audience by President João Lourenço, Paolo Balladelli said that there is, at this moment, a harmonious work between the United Nations, the Government, Civil Society, national and international partners to overcome the pandemic.

Paolo Balladelli went to the Palace to say goodbye to the Head of State, with whom he discussed several issues, with emphasis on the situation of the pandemic. Balladelli is now going to Venezuela, where he will fulfill a new mission, after nine years in Angola. “We are aware of the very difficult and delicate moment, which is not exclusive to Angola. It is a worldwide situation, which will last for some time, probably two more years, ”said Paolo Balladelli.
