On May 25, in Minnesota, George Floyd, a 46-year-old African American, is killed by a law enforcement officer – Derek Chauvin – when he is pressed to his neck with one knee. In the video, the victim is seen begging to be released because he cannot breathe.
For 8 minutes and 46 seconds, the policeman kept George immobilized and only released him when the ambulance arrived, being unconscious for 3 minutes. Death is confirmed an hour later.
