Brazilian writer Rubem Fonseca died. He was 94
The Brazilian writer Rubem Fonseca died at the age of 94, at hospital in Rio de Janeiro. He was one of the most respected names in Portuguese-language literature, author of books such as “O Caso Morel” and “O Cobrador”. He was the winner of Camões Prize in 2003.
According to the newspaper O Globo, Rubem Fonseca suffered a heart attack this Wednesday, around lunchtime, inside his apartment in Leblon. “He was immediately taken to Samaritano hospital, where he died”, reports the Brazilian media. The writer would turn 95 in May.
