Nobody forgets the sudden nature of this pandemic. Everyone always waiting for something to happen, driven by a sense of urgency typical in war. Social isolation is becoming uncomfortable – for many couples earlier than expected – with less possible escapes to prevent them from brooding over what each has said or done.
“People do not deal with uncertainty in the same way, which in itself can generate discussions”, warns psychologist Cláudia Morais. Add to that variables that makes family life more difficult than on a vacation – anxiety, fear, difficulty of going out to relax, talking with friends, thinking about other matters – and it is assumed that several relationships will end in divorce.
