House prices in Portugal increase double the euro zone and the EU

In the fourth quarter of 2019, the annual price of housing increased by 4.2% in the euro area and 4.7% in the European Union (EU), with Portugal registering an increase of 8.9%, according to Eurostat.

Compared to the previous quarter, between October and December, housing prices rose 0.7% in the euro area and 0.8% in the EU, with Portugal equaling the average of the countries in the single currency.
