The Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Bureau of the Chinese State Council condemned today the actions of protesters against the amendments to the extradition law in Hong Kong, saying that they "exceeded the acceptable limits." Cabinet spokesman, Yang Guang, called on all sectors of society in the administrative region and Hong Kong to "clearly oppose violence", "strongly uphold the rule of law" and step out of the political impasse to focus on development and improvement of the quality of life in the territory.
