World Surf League explains Norte Beach's success
The giant waves at Norte Beach (Nazaré, Portugal) have long been known, but attained worldwide fame when Garrett McNamara surfed a wave almost 30 meters high. Since then Nazaré has been visited by the best big wave surfers in the world, and at the end of every year Norte Beach hosts one of the World Surf League (WSL) legs, attracting hundreds of surfing enthusiasts.
