Portuguese Barbara Timo is runner-up under 70 kg at the World Judo Championships

Bárbara Timo is an athlete fighting for Sport Lisboa e Benfica

French judoka Marie Eve Gahie, who had snatched the silver medal in the 2018 World Championships, beat the Benfica athlete in 48 seconds.

Portuguese Barbara Timo was defeated this Thursday by the French judoka Marie Eve Gahie in the final of the World Judo Champioships in Tokyo, by ippon, winning the silver medal in the under-70 kg category.

The 28-year-old Portuguese judoka, born in Rio de Janeiro reached the final of the competition after defeating Margaux Pinot, European Champion, also from France, in the semi-finals in 54 seconds, also by ippon.
