In the past, the event would have dominated the news, but when LeBron James topped Michael Jordan on the NBA's list of baskets on Wednesday night (6), the triumph was somehow reduced to a footnote.

James started the Los Angeles Lakers' game against the Denver Nuggets, needing 13 points to overtake Jordan and take fourth place on the NBA basket list. At 5min38s of the second quarter, he managed to force entry into the carton for a tray, which resulted in his 14th point in the game and a total of 32,294 points in his career in professional basketball. And he also took a foul on the move.
