The Australian tennis player Ashleigh Barty won the French Grand Prix of the season for the first time this year by defeating the Czech Marketa Vondrousova in two sets.

In a meeting between the two players who played their first Grand Slam final, Barty, the 23 year old and eighth in the world ranking, beat the 19-year-old and 38th-ranked Czech player in the world rankings by 6-1 and 6-3 in one hour and 10 minutes.
