Gesa Felicitas Krause broke the world record for the 2000 meters hurdles with 5m52.80s at the Berlin meeting, where Patricia Mamona was second in the triple jump.

Krause, the two-time European champion in the Olympic distance of 3000 meters hurdles, imposed herself on the second-placed Winfied Mutile Yavi (5m56.83s) from Bharain and improved the previous record of 6m02.16s held by Kenya's Virginia Nganga since 2015.
