Angola will host the African Roller Hockey Cup on March 8-10 in Luanda, where it will play against Mozambique and Egypt

The information was given by the vice-president of the Angolan Skating Federation (FAP), Pedro Azevedo, who said that Angola wants to win the competition and qualify for the World Cup Elite Group, to be held in July 2019.

"The teams are already on the ground, and so are the members of the international and African confederations. Angola's national team has been working in the competition venue, where they have training for this championship," he said.

Pedro Azevedo also told Lusa that South Africa will not participate in the event, "due to financial reasons," adding that "all teams participating in this African [Cup] may have access to the World Cup in July."

"Only one African team, the African champions, will have access to the World Cup Elite Group - that is, the winner of the African [Cup] in Luanda will qualify for the Barcelona World Cup Elite Group, and Angola wants to win this competition," he said.

On Friday, the opening day, Angola will face Egypt; on Saturday, Egypt will play against Mozambique; and on the third day, Angola will face Mozambique's national team.

The World Cup will take place in Barcelona, Spain, on July 7-14, 2019.
