According to El Mundo, Spanish tax authorities are investigating Neymar's contract renewal with FC Barcelona and his subsequent transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.

According to the newspaper, Spanish authorities want to know if Neymar paid in Spain the taxes corresponding to his Barcelona contract renewal, which amounted to €64.4 million euros, and to his transfer to Paris Saint-German, which amounted to a record-breaking €222 million.

The authorities believe that, as someone with a tax resident status in Spain in 2017, Neymar should have paid those taxes in the country.
