Portugal defeated by the United States in attendance record match

The Portuguese women's soccer national team was defeated on Thursday by the United States 4-0, in a private match that beat the attendance record in home matches of the double world champion.

In front of 49,504 spectators at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Tobin Heath (four minutes), Morgan Brian (18), Carli Lloyd (52) and Allie Long (82) accentuated the dominance of the country that leads the FIFA's ranking and revalidated the women's world title in early July by beating the Netherlands 2-0 in the final, in France.

Aware of the difference in qualitative levels, Portugal, 30th in the hierarchy, handed the initiative to the United States from the first moments and bet on the speed of Diana and Jéssica Silva to explore fast counterattacks, although without disturbing the opposing area.
