The salary agreement is not concerned
The return of Jose Mourinho to Real Madrid, next season, is a very serious hypothesis. There are already ongoing talks and to make it a reality, the parties need only to reach an understanding on what the squad is concerned, according to the Plataforma, from a source close to the Portuguese coach.
Despite the coach's denials about his contacts with the Spanish club, the truth is that the talks have been going on for several months, since he left Manchester United at the end of last year, and have been intensifying in recent weeks, mostly due to the poor results of the meringue club, which, just in the past Tuesday, was surprisingly eliminated from the Champions League, at the feet of Ajax, in the heart of the Bernabeu, after defeat by 1-4.
The question of the duration of the contract and the values that José Mourinho will receive at Real Madrid, where he left in 2013, are not obstacles to the return of the Portuguese coach, a subject that has not even been discussed between the parties. What still separates the Portuguese coach and the club is the question of the composition of the squad for the next season: exits, stays and players to be hired, in order to try and break the hegemony of Barcelona in the championship.
According to information gathered, this issue has already been addressed, and there are, in fact, many edges to be trimmed between the two parties, even if his return for now is the main priority of President Florentino Pérez, who never doubted that Solari, currently in charge of the team, would be only an interim solution.
There is another name on the table, that of the Frenchman Zinedine Zidane, who left the technical command of the Merengues earlier this season. It was, in fact, the name that Florentino Perez most wanted, but the Real Madrid manager was informed that the future of the French should pass through Juventus, where he will find... Cristiano Ronaldo.
If the deal with José Mourinho isn't successful, then Real Madrid can try to hire Zidane, but Florentino Pérez is betting all in the Portuguese coach. The talks, however, are not being brokered by FIFA agent Jorge Mendes.
