European clubs announced a match on social networks, but Macau Sports Institute is unaware of any event taking place in the territory between the two teams
Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan have announced in their official social networking pages that they will be waving their hands at a friendly football match taking place in Macau at the Olympic Stadium in Taipa on July 27. The confrontation is part of the celebrations of the 20 years of the RAEM and the 55 years of the resumption of diplomatic relations between China and France.
In the meantime, the Macau Sports Journal assumes that it only learned about the initiative through social networks and, so far, it has not yet received a formal request to use the stadium on that date.
The two giants of European football are going on a summer tour through China. The French club has two more matches scheduled. With the Espanyol of Barcelona in Suzhou on July the 30th and with the Rennes in Shenzhen on August the 3rd. The Italian team did not announce other possible matches in China or in the Asian continent.
The Macau Sports Institute announced at the end of last week its intention to organize a game between the Southampton Englishmen and the Guangzhou R & F Chinese to celebrate the 20 years of the Macao SAR. Some people, especially in the Portuguese community, were upset and mentioned it in comments on social networks because local authorities did not invite Portuguese teams.
