Portugal can win the game against Ukraine due to legal aspects. FPF sends complaint to UEFA

At stake is a possible misuse of forward Júnior Moraes by the Ukrainian national team in matches against Portugal and Luxembourg. A source of the Portuguese Football Federation confirmed to Lusa that it received a complaint and forwarded it to UEFA.

Júnior Moraes, born in Brazil and brother of former Porto player, Bruno Moraes, made his debut for the Ukrainian national team in the match against Portugal (0-0), which marked the start of the qualifying for the Euro 2020 on Friday, in Luz stadium. However, the use of the striker may have violated FIFA regulations.

The reason for discussion is that Article 7 of the FIFA Statutes determines that a player who acquires a new nationality "may only represent the national team if he was born in the territory of the respective federation, if the biological parents were born in the territory of the respective federation, if the grandparents were born in the territory of their respective federation or if they have lived continuously for at least five years after reaching the age of 18 years in the territory of their respective federation."
