Former youth player João Félix jumped from the bench to score a tie for Benfica near the end, after Nani's goal had given Sporting advantage

The first derby of the season finished tied (1-1). Sporting was winning, but it was Benfica that was playing at home, for that reason the lonely point that the rivals won this Saturday is not something for either to talk about.

If Rui Vitoria presented the expected eleven - having only put Rafa in Zivkoviç's place when comparing with the players that were on Tuesday's match against PAOK - José Peseiro was forced to change his striker due to Bas Dost's injury, and also to help his replacement, Montero. Acuna, usually in charge of playing for the Dutch from the left side, played in the middle field; the surprise player Raphinha acted on the right side, in order to allow for Colombian Fredy Montero to aim at the goal - as Nani did on the left wing.
