Modric beats Ronaldo and wins the prize for the best in the World

Luka Modric, Real Madrid midfielder, was voted the best player in the world at TheBest FIFA 2018 Gala.

Luka Modric wins the World's best player award at TheBest FIFA 2018 Gala. The Croatian international took the lead against Cristiano Ronaldo, former team-mate at Real Madrid, and Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool forward, who last season was the top scorer in the English Premier League with 32 goals.

Luka Modric's acknowledged technical ability was more evident than ever during the last season, with the Croatian player adding yet another individual prize, having already been named the best player in the World Cup 2018 and having won the UEFA's best player award.

Best Men's Coach of the year - Didier Deschamps, French coach who led France to the World Cup 2018 title.
