Maradona tells Messi to quit Argentina national team

Maradona has already started his work with Dorados, a second-league team from Mexico

Diego Maradona, the greatest player in Argentine football history, continues to give his opinion on the future of the national team.

The shining star of Argentian's World Cup title in 1986, now venturing out as Dorados coach (Mexico's second league), has advised Lionel Messi to quit the national team and criticized the choice of Scaloni as a substitute for coach Jorge Sampaoli.

As with Neymar in Brazil, Messi did not make any statement after Argentina's exit from the World Cup in Russia.

When asked by newspaper Clarín if he would like to hear a statement from Messi, Maradona said: "Yes, I would have liked to see him tell us all to fu** ***. Because he is not to blame for us not being world champions."
