Portuguese player opened his heart to thousands of students of a primary school in Singapore.
Cristiano Ronaldo is paying visits to several primary schools as part of a collaboration with the Olympic Foundation of Singapore and the Peter Lim Scholarship (owner of Valencia of Spain).
For 30 minutes, about 1000 children from Chongzheng Primary School shouted: "Ronaldo! Ronaldo!" The Portuguese distributed smiles as well as sweaters, soccer shoes and many handshakes. Everyone wanted to touch the Portuguese star.
"I started taking football seriously when I was 11/12 years old, the hardest part was to stay away from the family and try to become a football professional. I came from a humble family, which always gave me opportunities to follow my dream. My mother and father have always said, 'Go and try'. So I went from Madeira to Lisbon and tried. I played for Sporting, my first club. I went to try my luck and I got it", said Ronaldo before the audience of small fans.
But not everything was easy, according to the Juventus player: "It was very difficult, I cried sometimes, it was difficult. After a few years, everything changed. I was 16 when I got my first professional contract. Whatever you want to be, a player or a doctor, believe in your dreams. Focus because everything is possible, never give up, never settle down, try and try. "
