The former Italian footballer and world champion Fabio Cannavaro will be the new coach of China's national team, a position he will accumulate with coaching the Guangzhou Evergreen.
The 45-year-old former world champion in 2006 replaces his compatriot Marcello Lippi, who resigned at the end of January after losing in the Asian Cup quarter-finals.
In the official website of the Chinese Football Federation, Fabio Cannavaro is already indicated as the coach, but without specifying the duration of his link.
The former defender made his debut as a coach in China at 2015, at Guangzhou Evergrande, after being an assistant coach at Al Ahli in the United Arab Emirates.
In the Chinese Super League, he also leaded the Tianjin Quanjian, before returning in 2018 to Guangzhou, when he lost the championship to the Shanghai SIPG of Vítor Pereira.
