FIFA announced on Thursday that it will intervene in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) due to irregularities and scandals.
On Wednesday, in Cairo, Egypt, where he participated in the CAF Congress, the president of the leading football entity, the Swiss Gianni Infantino, said FIFA's "help" can be of great benefit for the continent.
"What counts is that we have decided to cooperate with FIFA's top management to work with CAF... to develop African football in a more meaningful way," said Infantino shortly after the event of this Wednesday in the Egyptian capital. "This is about democracy. We gather testimonies from everyone and together we will try to do our best. The only thing I ask is to judge us by results and not by speculation."
