The match between Everton and Tottenham on this Sunday afternoon was stopped for several minutes after André Gomes suffered a hit by Son. The Portuguese international player had his right ankle broken and the Torttenham player cried when he saw his opponent on the ground and writhing in pain.
"Everton can confirm that André Gomes will undergo surgery tomorrow [Monday] after an ankle injury during today's match with Tottenham," can be read in the Liverpool club website.
