Al Ain is the fourth club from outside Europe and South America to play in the final of a World Cup. They will play the title against the winner of the duel between Real Madrid and Kashima Antlers.
Al Ain beated River Plate on a penalty shoot-out (5-4) today, after a 2-2 result in the regular and extra time, and progressed to the FIFA Club World Cup final.
The host of the event surprised the Argentine team, the recent South American champion, after beating Boca Juniors (also from Argentina) in the Libertadores Cup final and now awaits the result of the other semi-final between the European champion, Real Madrid, and the Asian champion, Kashima Antlers, to know its opponent in the final.
