In a petition, IPCO asks: "no to the samba of Mangueira that blasphemes against Christ". There hasn't been a revelry in recent years, "in which the Sacred Face of Jesus is not outraged, always in the name of 'freedom of expression'", says the text. They weren't the only ones who got angry with "The Truth Will Set You Free", a 2020 plot from the Rio's samba school.
