The houses in the outskirts of Lisbon have the biggest increases in the third quarter of the year

Montijo, Barreiro and Alcochete, on the south bank of the Tagus, and Mafra, north of Lisbon, are the four municipalities with the highest annual price growth.

The house prices in the Montijo, Barreiro, Alcochete and Mafra municipalities rose by 25% in the third trimester of 2019, the highest increase in the country, according to Confidencial Imobiliário's Residential Price Index.

According to the index, "15 out of 21 national municipalities where the year-on-year rise in house prices in the third quarter of 2019" was bigger than 15% are located on the outskirts of Lisbon, and the remaining six municipalities are located in the Porto region.
