Starving children rescued from compound in squalid conditions

Two men were holding eleven children and three women in a makeshift squalid compound in New Mexico, USA.

US police found 11 children trapped in a compound in New Mexico. The children, aged one to 15, were living in squalid conditions in a desert area in Amalia, near the state's border with Colorado.

The children were found after the police received a message saying, "We are starving, we need food and water." When they were rescued, the 11 children were undernourished, barefoot and dressed in rags.
