Setting a political tone, the LGBT Pride Parade brings together families in Paulista Avenue

This year's event features 19 electric trios, in addition to shows, such as the highly anticipated Spice Girl Melanie C performance.

The 23rd edition of the LGBT Pride Parade of São Paulo assumed the character of a political movement and of opposition to the Jair Bolsonaro's government."Resistance" was the most repeated word among participants at the event, which began around noon this Sunday, 23.

At the parade gathering, the federal deputy Sâmia Bomfim (PSOL-SP) incited a boo against the president. Besides criticizing the government, the Parade also strengthened its defense of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) decision to criminalize homophobia. Calls of "Free Lula" were also heard at the beginning of the event.
