Pope Francis has introduced radical changes in Catholic law to hold bishops accountable for sexual abuse or concealment, and has now created a law that obliges clerics to report such cases. Anyone will be able to complain directly to the Vatican, if necessary, Reuters reported.
The papal decree, which penalizes child and adult abuse, also obliges Catholic dioceses around the world to create simple reporting systems, and even encourages local churches to involve outside experts in investigations.
