Pope Francisco sends money to help victims

Pope Francis will help financially the victims of the recent Indonesian tsunami, which has killed 426 people and left thousands people injured, homeless and missing, the Holy See announced Saturday.

The pontiff will send a first contribution to help the Indonesian population in this state of emergency, and the sum that is being offered is not yet known.

A week ago the Sunda Strait, which separates the islands of Java and Sumatra, recorded a tsunami that caused 426 deaths, thousands of missing people, 7202 injured and left more than 40,000 homeless.
