The minister of Internal Affairs defended on Tuesday an "additional control of the use of arms" so that Portugal remains a safe country
The minister considers that an "essential contribution" to the limitation of the use of weapons is the revision of the law that is under way.
"More weapons are no longer security, we need additional control over the use of weapons because we want to continue to be a safe country in this matter," said Eduardo Cabrita at the signing ceremony of a protocol on weapons and explosives signed between Public Security Police and the Spanish Civil Guard.
For the minister, this is "a clear political option".
