The Labor Ministry is one of five fatalities counted so far as a result of the attack against a government building in the capital
According to captain Mohamed Hussein, minister Saqar Ibrahim Abdalla was killed in his office on the ground floor, following the invasion of the building by a group of armed men in the Somali capital Mogadishu.
The same source said that the security forces have already put an end to the siege by the armed group.
At least five gunmen stormed the building after a suicide bomb attack was made with a car near the headquarters of the secret services.
Somali security forces exchanged gunfire with the attackers to gain control of the building.
The attack also resulted in at least 10 injured, according to the same police source.
The Islamic militant group Al-Shebab, linked to al-Qaida, took responsibility for the attack.
