Judge João Cardoso Mandafama sentenced the convict to pay 1.5 million kwanzas to each of the infected victims, whose names were not disclosed, as well as 150,000 kwanzas in fees.
Calisto Pucuta's attorney José Quimpolo said he will file an appeal to find justice. Calisto Pucuta was detained by the SIC in April 2019 on charges of deliberately transmitting HIV/AIDS, as provided for in article 15 of law no. 8/2008, dated November 1, 2008, and punishable by article 353 of the Penal Code.
