Retired police officer Ronnie Lessa and former PM Élcio Vieira de Queiroz have become defendants and will be held liable for homicide.
Rio's court accepted the complaint against retired police officer Ronnie Lessa and former PM Élcio Vieira de Queiroz, accused of killing councilwoman Marielle Franco in March last year. With that, the two have become defendants and will respond for a triple aggravated murder (clumsy motive, ambush and appeal that made it difficult for the victim's defense).
The suspects remain under custody since Tuesday (12) at the Homicide Office, in the sequence of Operation 'Lume'. They were taken to the DH (Homicide Office) in Barra da Tijuca, West Rio. In the decision, Judge Gustavo Kalil of the 4th Rio Jury Court authorized the transfer of the accused men to a federal maximum security prison to be appointed by the Depen (National Penitentiary Department).
