Church analyzes reforms to respond to scandals; Catholic activists call for additional measures

The clergy sex abuse crisis will dominate the agenda of the US Catholic Bishops' national assembly this week, amid critical callings for church leaders to finally push for substantial reforms to oust the priests who commit them.

The assembly, which begins this Monday (12) in Baltimore and lasts for three days, comes after a series of sex abuse scandals this year that have shocked, both in its number and its magnitude.
