Pope criticises mankind's "consumerist voracity"

Man has become greedy and greedy. To have, to accumulate things, seems to be for many people the meaning of life," said the head of the Catholic Church in the Christmas homily , speaking to about 10,000 faithful gathered in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.

During the Christmas Eve Mass, which commemorates the birth of Jesus of Nazareth, placed in a manger, the Pope asked selfishness to be overcome and that we not fall into consumerism, adding afterwards: "The little body of the Child of Bethlehem launches a new model of life: not to devour or to grasp but to share and to give".
