The Mozambican police, in order to deal with the terrorism that affects the northern side of the country, decided to reinforce patrolling on the border with the Cabo Delgado province on the same day that Graça Machel was appointed by President Filipe Nyusi as a member of the State Council.
In order to deal with the successive terrorism acts that occur in the northern region of the country, the Mozambican national police decided to reinforce patrolling in the border areas with Cabo Delgado province.
This is a special anti-terrorism contingent that will remain in the region until the situation is controlled. For security reasons, the authorities haven't disclosed the number of people that integrate this unit. The terrorist attacks, attributed to radical Islamist groups, make the Muslim community in the region afraid that the eventual enticement of the villagers will cause the attacks to spread to other regions, somewhat similar to what happened in Nigeria when Boko Haram began their actions.
