March against unemployment in Uige on August 23-24

Protest against unemployment in Malanje in May 2019

Activists, students and other grassroots organizations are set to take to the streets of Uige on August 23 and 24 to protest against high unemployment rates, poor economic and social conditions, and President João Lourenço's alleged failure to deliver on the promises he made during the election campaign.

The organizers say the initiative is part of a larger protest - called the National March - that will be announced soon.
