Gaeco makes operation to arrest PCC leaders in São Paulo

The Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco) of the Public Prosecutor's Office today makes (3) an operation against criminal factions of São Paulo, including the First Command of the Capital (PCC). Operation Jiboia - name chosen because it aims to "strangle" the criminal organization - occurs in 19 cities and involves about 500 military police.

The police is serving 50 arrest warrants and 30 search warrants. By the end of the morning, at least 13 people were arrested in scene of the crime and a teenager was apprehended. The agents found $ 1 million in cash, seven weapons, more than 50 cell phones, four scales used to weigh drugs, faction notes and seven vehicles.

According to the Prime Minister, some of the targets of the arrest warrants were in charge of the criminal fractions in the streets, taking the place of other leaders who were arrested.
