2nd phase admission: 6734 college vacancies left. Most of them in the countryside

87% of students applying for higher education institutions were placed in the first phase. The second phase begins today; five institutions ran out of vacancies, but there are 38 degrees with no approved candidates yet.

Applications for the second phase of the higher education admission process open this Monday. There are 6,734 vacancies left, 556 fewer than last year. However, there are 38 degrees without a single placement, most of which located in the countryside.

Deserted degrees include Civil Engineering (7), Electrotechnical Engineering (5), and Basic Education (2). Most of these degrees are taught in countryside colleges, showing that the government's efforts to attract more students to inland regions have failed. Out of 6734 vacancies available, about 5,000 are located outside major urban centers.
