"I am concerned about homosexuality in the clergy"

Pope Francis is "concerned" about homosexuality in the clergy, according to excerpts from a book that will be published shortly, in which he is quoted as saying that "in our societies even homosexuality seems to be in fashion."

According to the AP news agency quoting the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, the Pope said: homosexuality in the clergy "is something that worries me."

On the same day, the Italian news agency ANSA said that in the book, the Pope says that it is "a mistake" to say that having gays in convents "is not that serious" and adds: "There is no place for this type of affection" among the clergymen.
