Country fears resurgence of protests in the seven-year anniversay of the Arab Spring.

Egyptian authorities have restricted, discreetly, the sale of yellow vests in the country, fearing that government opponents would be inspired by the movement that has taken thousands to the streets in France and organize major rallies on the 7-year anniversary of the Arab Spring, in January.

According to sources from security forces and sellers heard by the Associated Press news agency, the government instructed security equipment sellers not to offer yellow jackets to shoppers who enter the stores and restrict the sell of the garment to companies that have permission from the police for purchasing them.
