The victim was a 42-year old man with no record of having been vaccinated against the disease.

The first death due to a measles outbreak in the city of São Paulo was reported on August 17th, but it was only confirmed by the Municipal Health Department on Wednesday (28th). A 42-year-old man is the first confirmed victim of the measles outbreak since the beginning of the year. According to the coordinator of COVISA (Surveillance and Health Coordination in the municipality), Solange Savoy, the patient had no vaccine record.
