At least thirteen people were killed and more than a dozen were injured by the partial collapse of a church roof during a service in KwaZulu-Natal
The collapse occurred Thursday night in a church in Dlangubo, north of Durban, during an Easter service, Local Affairs Ministry spokesman Lennox Mabaso said.
"The roof of the building collapsed due to heavy rains yesterday [Thursday]," the official told local media. "At the moment there are 13 dead," he added.
A spokesman for the province's emergency services, Rabert McKenzie, confirmed the death toll. "What a tragedy: 13 dead and 16 wounded people receiving treatment in the emergency services," he posted on his Twitter account.
In fact, many Twitter posts mention the tragedy.
