The decision was made as a result of the Brazilian government new authorizations for the use of agrochemicals.

The Swedish supermarket chain Paradiset announced on Wednesday (5) a boycott of all products from Brazil, as a result of the record authorization to use new pesticides by the Brazilian government. From the total of 197 pesticides already authorized this year by the Ministry of Agriculture, 26% are banned in the European Union because of the risks to human health and the environment.

"We need to stop (the president) Bolsonaro, he's a maniac," said the Paradiset group president, Johannes Cullberg, to RFI. "When I read in the press the news of the authorization to use so many pesticides by President Bolsonaro and the Minister of Agriculture, Tereza Cristina, I became so furious that I sent an email to all my staff, with the order 'immediate boycott to Brazil'", added Cullberg
