Memorandum of Understanding on Security and Public Order was signed by Angolan Minister of Home Affairs Ângelo Tavares and US ambassador to Angola, Nina Maria Fite
Exchange of information, collection and handling of evidence and exchange of delegations are contained in the memorandum. Angola and the United States intend to cooperate, in accordance with their respective domestic laws, regulations and policies, to exchange information on the prevention, investigation and combating of criminal activities, including the collection and treatment of evidence, exchange of information on criminal investigation, as well as the implementation of vocational training programs, including the exchange of delegations.
The memorandum had been negotiated since 2018, thus constituting a legal basis for strengthening bilateral cooperation on security and public order, particularly in the fight against transnational organized crime.
